Campaign
“I am with the Marine Protected Area” is a fundraising campaign in support of the Marine Protected Area of the Egadi Islands, the largest in Europe, managed by the Municipality of Favignana on behalf of the Ministry for the Environment. Through a voluntary donation, citizens, tourists, operators, associations or institutions can make a small contribution, even symbolic, to protect the largest Prairie of Posidonia Oceanica in the Mediterranean, on whose waters sea turtles, monk seals, dolphins and many other rare or endangered species swim. The funds raised are only intended for nature conservation projects. The donation also represents a form of moral adherence and sharing of the inspirational values of the Marine Protected Area, aimed at the protection of the environment, the education, the enhancement and the promotion of sustainable development. A token gesture, a statement, even against those who would like to continue to do in the sea whatever they want... By paying a minimum contribution, donors receive in return a gadget with the logo of the campaign and its slogan "I love the sea. I am with the Marine Protected Area." According to the amount donated, you can receive a sticker, to put on your bike, car or other visible place, a bio cotton shopping bag for an environmentally friendly spending, or the short or long sleeved campaign T-shirt, in ecological cotton, to wear with playfulness. Each donor is kindly asked to send a photograph of them at iostoconlamp@ampisoleegadi.it. At the end of the campaign, the Marine Protected Area will produce a poster with the faces of all donors. The funds raised will be used for the following projects:
- Favignana Sea Turtle Rescue Centre
- Project 'MASTER' for the installation of anti-trawling bollards
- Monk Seal monitoring
Depending on the amount paid, donors will receive campaign gadgets according to the following minimum contributions:
- € 2,00 Donation: sticker or decal
- € 5,00 Donation: ecological shopper
- € 12,00 Donation: short sleeved bio cotton child t-shirt
- € 12,00 Donation: short sleeved bio cotton man/woman t-shirt
- € 12,00 Donation: long-sleeved man-woman t-shirt
