SIGAMP
The project SIGAMP (Information System for the Management of the Marine Protected Area), counted among the winning projects of Telecom Italia Foundation Call for Tenders "Parks and Marine Protected Areas", focuses on the monitoring and operational management of the Marine Protected Area. A specific APP conveys georeferenced information related to the sightings and monitoring of protected species and habitats as well as of any infringement or problem or any other environmental matter which is worthy of attention.
Such data are available, via smartphone or tablet through the SIGAMP APP, to the operators working with various entities. In addition, the system is designed as a tool for sharing experiences in the marine protected area. All of this is handled centrally by a territorial information system (Web GIS). The project also envisages the creation of the new website of the marine protected area. Besides, the APP will allow users to access real-time information and services, both on land and at sea.
