SUMMER SCHOOL ON COASTAL CONSERVATION

In partnership with Stanford University, Municipality of Favignana and University of Palermo. Organization of a course for university students based on activities carried out on the field, with the aim of providing the basic elements for the education and training of marine biologists, by means of implementing on the ground the notions acquired in the theoretical courses. The course will focus mainly on the assessment on the field of the state of marine resources and on the learning of the methods of ecological analysis of the coastal benthic systems, with particular reference to the habitats and sensitive species of the territory. An educational module for the management of the AMP is also provided.

The course will be held by professors from the University of Stanford and other Italian universities, under the direction of prof. Renato Chemello of the University of Palermo, as well as by the staff of the AMP with respect to the issues related to the management of a Marine Protected Area.
